Dr Laken McGarvey

Dr Laken McGarvey is a registrar training in General Practice. She completed a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery from James Cook University in 2014 as well as a Bachelor of Sciences (Honors) from the University of Queensland in 2009. Since then she has spent several years working in both inner city and rural hospitals within surgery, mental health, general and emergency medicine as well as rural and Indigenous medicine. While she enjoys all aspects of general practice, her special interests include women’s health, sexual health, Indigenous and Refugee Health, paediatrics, preventative medicine and mental health. Dr McGarvey has an open and caring manner and values a comprehensive approach to all patients.
